Treasure hunt

On Friday the 28th August we did a treasure hunt. We had to run around the school and find small pieces of paper with a picture of gumboots on them. We could win headphones and chicken and chip vouchers and lots of other things. We had to pay $2 to do the treasure hunt and the money was raising money for Sam Godsiff-Johnson and the charity I Am Hope.

Probability

In Te Maunga we have been learning about probability. We had to play some math games and one of the games we played was called Sneaky Snakes. In the game you had to roll a dice and say you got five and two that equals seven so you move your counter seven times on the board and you have to count how many turns it takes to finish the game my ground through it would take about five turns but I thought it was going to be four.

Dinosaurs

In Te Maunga we have been making dioramas. In my diorama I had an asteroid hitting a volcano which made it explode and erupt.  When I started making my diorama I did a paper mache volcano and used little volcanic rocks to make an asteroid. I learnt that the titanoboa was the biggest snake in history!

Soundscape

In Te Maunga we have been learning about soundscapes. In my group we decided to do a soundscape of a volcano erupting with a waterfall next to it. When we were doing our soundscape I learnt different types of rocks can make lots of different types of sounds.

Cyber Smart

In Te Maunga we have been learning about how to keep safe online. I learnt that lots of apps like Twitter, Snapchat and Tiktok are all 13+ and if you want to get an app ask someone if you're allowed to get it.

Pepeha Greetings

In Te Maunga we have been doing Pepeha and Greetings. In my Pepeha and Greetings I made one sentence in Maori and another in English and I had to say sorry to my parents and thank you to my parents.
