What Do You Think About The Seaweek Visit?

On March the 24th we had visitors at Paihia School. We learnt about sea life and fishing. My favorite bit about the seaweek visit was that we got to learn about shells and also that we got to hold some of the stuff they had like shells and coral.

Our Fun Swimming Lessons

Te Maunga went swimming in Russell. We learnt how to properly lie on our back in the water and learnt how to do freestyle in the water. My favourite part about swimming was that I learnt how to properly lie on my back and at swimming I tried hard at trying to lie on my back and pushing my hips and feet out of the water to the sky.

The Easter Auction That Will Blow Your Mind!

In Te Maunga we did an auction. We learnt about how an auction works, how to subtract money and also if you do all your work you get a reward. My favourite part about the auction was that we got chocolate and also when we were doing the auction I learnt not to spend lots of money on one thing.

Check Out This Great Pepeha Art

In Te Maunga we have been learning about pepeha art. We had to draw our maunga/awa and some kowhaiwhai in our book first to practice then we could draw it on a A4 piece of paper. We also had to choose a whakatauki and colour it in pastel. My favourite bit about art was that we got to colour it and draw kowhaiwhai patterns.

Our Fun Day Out In Kerikeri

On December the 2nd Te Maunga went on a class trip to Kerikeri to watch The Secret Garden. First of all we went to The Parrot Place, next we went to the park and had a play. When we were at the park we had some pizza and last of all we went to watch the sad and interesting movie called The Secret Garden. We got ice cream and a small fizzy drink each and it tasted fantastically delicious!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

My Day off School

This weekend I went to Auckland with my mum and dad. In Auckland we went Christmas shopping at the mall. I got $50 to spend for my Christmas shopping. I got my dad a t - shirt, my sister a book, my brother a tie dye t - shirt, my step sister a jasmine scented candle and last of all my mum a mushroom made out of wool that you can pull the top off and inside it there is a fake candle that lights up.

Cricket

In Te Maunga we have been learning about cricket. We played non stop cricket. The batting team had to stay inside the cones if you were in line and hit the ball to the fielders without hitting the wickets after you hit the ball you run to a pad and hop back in line also if you hit the wickets you get that bat out. The fielders have to grab the ball after it has been hit. I learnt how to hold the bat by making a v shape with both of your hands.
